Last night, the Moon raised me us question that her daughter asked.
"Why give money to the church? Why can't God just bless the church with money?"
To which I replied,
"The same reason why God allows suffering on earth, why can't He just bless away all pain and suffering so no one can and ever will be sick, get old or die."
I could also have added,
"Why did God allow Adam and Eve to eat that darn fruit in Eden, thus allowing the fall of humanity? Weren't they suppose to be good when He created them?"

I first explained that it's not about giving money to the church, that does not define you as a believer, a christian or a catholic because the act of worship is much more than that. It's about giving your whole self, all your assets, talents and all your time to God, then putting all your trust and faith in Him that He will provide.
Then I followed with a verse saying that God provides the birds with food and clothe the flowers in the field, how much more will He provide for us.

Here's the whole verse extracted from the King James Version of the Bible,
"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:26-33 KJV
Following, I added with a short story of the long spoons. <- wikipedia link added

I could not remember the details of the full story so I only briefly mentioned the main point, that there is a place where everyone had a long spoon around a bowl of food in the center. Nobody could feed themselves with the long spoon but can only feed each other with it.

The moral of the story and verse is that God wants us to learn is learning to live, to love and to have faith in Him. Life is like a test. The day will come when all sufferings will end when we finally graduate from earth.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelations 21:4 KJV
Hope this post finds a way to my daughters or anyone in need when a similar question comes up again in the future.
With this I end with a song - The Heart of Worship
